This unique watering hole is, for country folk, a sight for sore eyes. Located just north of 59 and just south of the Richmond strip, the Firehouse Saloon brings in some of the biggest names in Texas music. The bar's rough and splintered exterior is the perfect forefront to its barn-style interior, which is laced with picnic table seating and firemen's boots. In case you couldn't tell, the bar's owners are former firefighters. But don't be fooled, this is no small-time saloon. Firehouse features a dance floor, pool tables, video games, buckets of ice cold beer (along with a full bar for those liquor drinkers) and constant country music airing through the speakers. Many a regular and off-duty firemen can be spotted at this neighborhood spot, but every weekend the place consistently packs in newcomers vying to enjoy some of that good ol' Texas music. -- Kristen E.
